Prototype Model

Prototype model focus on water transportation adapts the different types of texture to distribute water. The angle of scale and types of texture of scale has been determined in directing water flow.

The result shows that the pine cones have hygyoscopic properties and structural advantages that can be mimicked to harvest rainwater. This prototype canopy model would be useful especially in hot and humid climate like Malaysia which can serve as shelter as well as rainwater harvesting system at the same time. During rainfalls, it can capture and distribute water to and storage for irrigation use
